Yesterday, I read a book in ONE DAY! I am a fast reader, but everything does not hold my attention like this. Many of you know Evangelist Lillian J. Lloyd because her skillful and anointed vocal rendering of Ricky Dillard's "One More Chance," but if you think that her song is a testimony, you should really invest in a copy of her book. It's available as a download through Amazon. There is NOT ONE subject that she avoids discussing and is at times very real and raw, without being inappropriate. Not only does she take us back through time as she visits the nostalgic, vivid memories of her childhood/teen years in the 80's and 90's, she goes into the HEART of many issues that seem to overtake those of us who were raised by the church. Dissappointed. Too sexually explicit. I suppose Ms. Lloyd in her effort to "keep it real", felt it necessary for us to travel with her through her sexual exploits. However, in an effort to be forthright and transparent, in my opinion, God's Power to redeem, deliver and set free was not fully demonstrated here. I expected so much more from this Woman of God. Dissappointed.
This book spoke volumes about my Life in so many ways! This is a true story of survival!! we need more ppl to not be ashamed & give more truth about themselves!
It's amazing that a person could reveal that much about their lives in order to teach and reach out to others. I don't even know her but am proud to see how much she's grown. Gotta push this one throughout the communities.
This is an awesome book! In this book Evangelist Lloyd shares personal life stories, both the real and raw truth of it, and the victories that follow. The good, the bad and the sometimes ugly are shared with a realistic perspective with a strong biblical foundation. It is not so often that a woman of God can be this raw and stand firm on what honors God according to His word. I'd recommend this to everyone so that they may gain insight for their own particular circumstances or to be able to understand someone in a particular circumstance. Sometimes it takes just knowing that one is not alone nor are they the only one in a particular struggle to spark a life changing epiphany that produces positive transformation.
Thank you Lillian Lloyd for you honesty in writing this book. I am a fan of your music and am blessed by the anointing on your life. The fact that you could have written a tell all book, but did not call people out, speaks volumes about your character. One of the downfalls of the saints is the fact that past sins are so "conveniently forgotten", especially when sitting on the judgement seat looking at someone who has sinned. I appreciate your obedience to the voice of the Lord in sharing your story.
It's one thing to read a book and not know much about the Author, but it's a totally different thing when you can read a book about someone's life and they have sang about alot of their life in their songs. I APPLAUD YOU, Evangelist Lillian Lloyd for your transparency in not only helping others to be free, but for freeing yourself and working through areas of your life that were secrets. To be bold enough to share this with the world is INCREDIBLE! YOU PULLED ME IN TO THIS BOOK FROM BEGINNING TO END. I don't do a lot of reading of books outside of the Bible, but I STARTED READING AND COULD NOT STOP AND IN A FEW HOURS, I WAS DONE!!! People can think what they want to think about your book, BUT THIS IS YOUR BOOK WRITTEN BY YOU AND YOUR LIFE EXPERIENCES THAT YOU CHOSE TO SHARE AND I APPRECIATE YOUR OPENNESS....Looking forward to the next book!!! I'M SO PROUD OF YOU, MY SISTER!!!
